Colonnade Aluminium Round Security Downpipe And Fittings
The Colonnade Range of Aluminium Round Security Rainwater Downpipes are available in either a Mill finish or PPC finish.
The Colonnade Aluminium Circular Security downpipe system is formed from extruded 6060 T4 aluminium in various sizes (80mm,83x83mm and 108x108mm) and is supplied with a complete range of accessories including Aluminium Round Security Offsets Bends, Aluminium Round Security Bends, Aluminium Round Security Shoes, Aluminium Round Security Downpipe Clips.
How Do I Install Aluminium Round Security Downpipe and Fittings?
We advise that you ensure the fixing background is in good condition and will support the downpipe and that there are sufficient clips/brackets in place to secure the load.
Maximum fixing centres is 2 metres – using correct stainless-steel fixings and plugs for the substrate being fitted to.
Unlike other systems, Security Pipe has to be built from the ground up.
When fitting Colonnade security downpipes, start from the gully and work upwards towards the outlet.
Make sure you have the right combination of offsets/bends/branches and pipe to complete the installation.
1-Ensure vertical alignment between drain and gutter outlet.
A drain adaptor or offset may be required to terminate the pipe work into the gully.
Slide the main fixing plate into the top of the pipe, attach clamp and secure with M6 nuts supplied.
Fix to the wall using plasticwall plugs and stainless steel screws (dependant on substrate).
2-As per local building regulations, if a shoe is not installed access pipes should be fitted and positioned to give suitable rodding access as required.
Apply a bead of sealant to the internal face of the pipe to be jointed before inserting spigot of next pipe. Clean off excess sealant as required.
3-Position next pipe and fix back with 2 No. fixing screws.
4-Adjust the offset to suit the projection.
5-Top of last pipe is required to finish 180 340 mm max beneath the offset.
Place telescopic section into top of pipe, position offset, then raise the telescopic section to connect with the offset.
Carefully measure and cut cover piece.
6-Once connected place cover position over telescopic section using 2 beads of sealant to fix in place.
Any Cut Lengths Should be de-burred and touched up with touch up paint supplied prior to installation for more information or further assistance, please contact us.
Jointing
Where required, any use of sealant must not be carried out in wet weather or in temperatures below 5ºC or above 50ºC. All joint surfaces must be perfectly clean and dry. Only a low modulus sealant (ARP Arbosil 1096) must be used to prevent early failure.
Fixing
It is important that all fixings are suitable for both the substrate and the load. They must therefore be of the appropriate size and of a compatible material to ensure no electrolytic corrosion occurs. ARP recommends that stainless steel (preferably austenitic) screws must be used to fix downpipes or associated components.
