Copper Gutter Low Modulous Silicone Sealant (185mm Including Bead)

Our silicone sealant uses low modulous silicone that has been laboratory tested to guarantee a 25-year life. Please note, we do not recommend using alternative low modulous silicone sealant, however if you choose to, we advise that you test it first.
All varieties of our copper gutters in our copper gutter systems are 2.4m in length. Copper gutter has a life expectancy of 100 years yet is lightweight. Copper gutter is low maintenance due to its capacity to act as an algaecide which prevents it from being affected by moss and lichen growth and can be cleaned with soap and water. Copper gutter additionally has the ability to clean water, creating a balanced PH level that can be used to water plants.
Please note that copper guttering is installed differently to other rainwater systems. Please check our installation guide for more information.

Approximate Number of Joints a Tube Will Seal:

Key Features and Benefits

  • Easy Installation - Coppa Gutta rainwater systems have been designed to be installed by a qualified tradesperson with no specialist tools required. The copper gutter is merged using copper pop rivets and our silicone sealant, which is guaranteed to last a minimum of 25 years.
  • Low Maintenance - Copper guttering requires minimal cleaning other than the removal of dirt and debris such as leaves from the gutters.
  • Durability - The 0.6 copper that is used for the guttering has a life expectancy of at least 100 years, naturally protecting itself from elemental corrosion such as rust or rot by developing a green patina over time.
  • Rainwater harvesting - Copper acts as an algaecide and fungicide minimising the growth of moss and lichen. Additionally, Copper is free from chemicals such as chlorine and mildly disinfects the rainwater producing a balanced PH, making it ideal for watering plants.
  • Aesthetic Beauty - The copper guttering naturally evolves through different shades of brown and bronze, before eventually forming a green (Verdigris) patina. This process can be accelerated with a Verdigris solution that can be applied after insulation which will produce the green patina in a few hours.
  • Eco friendly - Copper Guttering is 100% recyclable.

Natural Ageing Process of Copper

Copper guttering naturally evolves through different shades of brown and bronze before eventually forming a green/blue (Verdigris) patina. The time it takes for the patina process to start will vary depending on property location, weather conditions in the area, how far the property is from the sea, and the differing forms of acidic pollution. Naturally, the copper will evolve to become green/blue and we advise that the copper is not coated to try to keep it bright. If desired, the patina process can be accelerated with a Verdigris solution that can be applied after installation which will produce the green patina in a few hours.
Coppa Gutta Natural Ageing Process Patina

Verdigris Solution
Verdigris solution can be applied to fast track the ageing process of your copper guttering and produce the patina finish within a few hours. We advise using a spray applicator to apply the solution. Safety glasses, gloves and protective clothing should be worn while spraying the solution onto your gutter and downpipe. Once the Verdigris solution is applied the patina will be produced in approximately two hours. We recommend applying the solution on a dry day, within a week of the gutter system being installed.
